Zarino's Coil Copper Anklet
The spiral at the center of this piece is a shape people have been carving into stone and pressing into metal for longer than anyone can trace. I made this one for those who feel something when they see it, who place it on their ankle and find themselves glancing down at it throughout the day.
The spiral is formed from a single continuous strip of copper, coiled by hand from the center outward, then joined to the band, which I shape separately and curve gently so it rests naturally against the ankle. People who wear copper at the ankle often tell me their joints feel more supported, their knees, their feet, the parts that carry them through everything.
This is one of the final anklets I will make before I close my workshop. I hope the spiral finds the ankle it belongs to.
