Zarino's Reed Copper Anklet

Zarino's Reed Copper Anklet

This is the piece I spend the most time on, every strand of the braid woven over and under by hand, with the tension kept even all the way around so the pattern stays true. I made this for people whose ankles and legs have been carrying them for decades without complaint, and who need their circulation to keep up with lives that never slow down.

There is something about the weight of this piece against the ankle, substantial and present, that people either notice right away or come back to tell me about later. The ones who wear copper consistently often say the same thing: they stopped noticing what they used to notice.

This is one of the last anklets I will make before I close my workshop for good. I hope it finds the ankle that has earned it.
