Zarino's Mesa Copper Necklace
Some shapes don’t need explaining. They have been with us for far too long for that. I made this piece for people who feel something when they see a spiral, even if they cannot fully explain it. The pendant is formed from a single continuous strip of copper, coiled by hand from the center outward, the same way this symbol has been shaped for thousands of years.
Copper worn close to the chest, near the heart, is something people across many civilizations have practiced for generations. Those who come back to me often say the same thing. Over time, they stopped noticing what they once noticed.
This is one of the final necklaces I will make before I close my workshop for good. I hope it finds the neck that needs it.
